
Research, education, and training
The MENA Health Program leverages Stanford expertise to do the following: conduct innovative research implementation on the ground while creating and curating large health datasets; offer in-person and remote training opportunities for health students and professionals; as well as offer capacity-building training to health NGOs in the MENA region.
Program activities
Innovative Research
Stanford Med | MENA Health Program provides seed funding and resources for Stanford faculty and MENA co-PIs to apply health quality, innovative research toward healthcare delivery solutions in MENA. Stanford Med | MENA Health Program, through its research arm, will also create and curate large health datasets that lead to scalable health programs.
Specialized Education
Stanford Med | MENA Health Program will offer specialized in-person and remote education opportunities, including for MENA graduate students and physicians to attend health courses and observerships at Stanford Med, respectively. The MENA Health Program will also offer Stanford students and physicians research opportunities and clinical rotations at a MENA hospital, respectively. To reach a large number of MENA health practitioners, the MENA Health Program will create and offer remote, certified health courses contextualized for MENA .
Regional Training
The MENA Health Program will offer capacity-building workshops for MENA health organizations on topics including grant writing, scientific paper preparation, and monitoring and evaluation. MENA Health Program will also convene on-the-ground health players and regional experts to spark new ideas for research, education, and training.
