Health in MENA
There is insufficient flow of health research into healthcare policy and implementation in the MENA region. This is due to a lack of high-quality, rigorous health research as well as insufficient national policy frameworks to effectively coordinate, prioritize, promote, and regulate the conduct of research for health activities.
Also, a health workforce responding to health challenges in a data-driven, time-sensitive, and efficient manner is lacking. This is due to the lack of a robust public health workforce as well as a lack of highly technical, continuing education training opportunities for specialists.
Stanford Med | MENA Health Program is stepping up to address these problems.
Vision: A predictive healthcare system that is driven by data and local talent to better serve its people.
Mission: To build at Stanford University School of Medicine the largest internationally-recognized program focused on understanding and responding systemically to the health needs of our Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region.
